DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE

     The erstwhile Social Welfare Department was bifurcated in the year 1996 into Social Welfare Department and Department for the Welfare of Women and Child. Consequent on bifurcation, the Social Welfare Department is implementing the poor-oriented welfare schemes as below:-

     i. Welfare of the Backward Classes and minorities
     ii. Welfare of the Disabled
     iii. Social Defense Schemes
     iv. Aiding the Public Sectors undertakings etc.

     For the past eight financial years, the Social Welfare Department has utilized funds for the implementation of the Welfare Schemes as below:-
