ANANDARANGAPILLAI GOVERNMENT SPECIAL SCHOOL
FOR THE VISUALLY HANDICAPPED AND HEARING IMPAIRED.,

The Anandarangapillai Government Special School for the Visually Handicapped and Hearing Impaired is functioning at Pillaichavady with a Strength of 100 Students. The School was started during the Year 1963 under the control of Education Department. 1.73 Hectare of Land was donated by Sri Ananda Ranagapillai for starting the School. From 1981 onwards the School is come under the control of Social Welfare Department.  

            The School is functioning for the Welfare of both handicapped i.e., Visually Handicapped and Hearing Impaired. Now the Children of the Home getting Education upto 10^th Standard. The existing High School will be upgraded in to Higher Secondary School level from the next Academic year. The Children are provided with Free Boarding and Lodging facilities. Apart from Academic Education the Children are taught with instrumental music. From the next year Vocational Training will also be introduced for the Children to stand on their own legs.           

            The teachers working in the Institution are Specially trained  in this field. One Staff Nurse is taking care of the inmates and periodical visit of the Specialized Doctors are also ensured for their Good Health. The Children are provided with indoor and outdoor games under the guidance of well trained P.E.T., They are also provided with Radio and Television as other Recreational facilities. Every year the Children are taking for Educational Tour.  

            The Children studied in this Institution are become Teachers and getting better jobs in the Private Companies.
