OPEN TENDER NOTICE
On behalf of the President of India, sealed tenders
are invited from the manufacturers and from the authorized dealers for the
supply of bi-cycles / raincoats to the
students studying in the 9th Standard in Government and
Government aided schools the Union Territory of Puducherry
by the Social Welfare Department, Puducherry, as per
the specifications given below: -

The tenders are invited upto
and inclusive of 06.10.2009 at 3.30 p.m.
The bicycle tender will be opened on the same day at 4.00 p.m. & the
rain coat tender will be opened on the next working day i.e. 07.10.2009 at
10.00 a.m. in the presence of the tenderers or their
representatives. If the opening day
happens to be a holiday, the tender will be opened on the next working day.
1. The separate sealed tenders are to be superscribed
as “Tender for the supply of bi-cycle /Raincoat”. The sealed tenders should be sent alongwith samples for each item.
2. The firm should enclose the copy of registration certificate Dealership
certificate with the tender document.
3. Only one sample bicycle/raincoat for Gents and Ladies should be
produced as per this Department’s specification with the tender schedule.
4. The cost of a bi-cycle / raincoat should be quoted inclusive of all
taxes.
5. The words “Free distribution by Social Welfare Department, Government
of Puducherry” should be carved in all the cycles.
6. The Validity of the tender is up to 31.03.2010.
7. This Department will not provide any place for fitting the bicycles. The Company should make their own arrangement
for the same.
8. The company will be responsible for the distribution of bicycles to
the schools concerned in the U.T. of Puducherry as
per this Department’s supply order.
9. No advance payment will be made.
10. The supplier is responsible to supply the goods without any damage.
The supplier should, without charge, repair or rectify defective goods or to replace such goods with similar goods
free from defect.
11. The ordered raincoats should be supplied to the stores of Social
Welfare Department in four regions.
12. If any of the goods or spares is sub-standard and any deviation in the supply, the
cost of such item will be recovered before payment.
13. E.M.D. at the rate of 2.5% of the quoted, value shall invariably be
appended with the tender in the form of Demand Draft drawn from the State Bank of
14. Tenders received without EMD will be totally rejected.
15. The E.M.D. will be returned to the successful tenderer
only after completing the supply in good condition.
16. The Director of Social Welfare Department, Puducherry
reserves the right to slightly increase or decrease the quantity of bicycle/
raincoat at the time of placing supply order.
17. The Director, Social Welfare Department is empowered to reject any
tender fully or partly without assigning any reason therefor.
